The Raqs Team

An event such as the International Raqs Congress is not a one-person deal. A team of 20 passionates was necessary in order to make the congress dream a reality.
The devotion and dedication of each and every member of the Raqs team was a valuable asset. In order not to be too long, we will present here the three main people behind the event : Salwa, who initiated the idea, Moran who put the dream on paper, and Hawwa who brought her experience to the mix

	Salwa is a dancer, teacher, and choreographer specialized in Oriental dance. She has worked many years for an official recognition of Oriental dance and wishes to give this art an international scope. The idea of the congress came naturally for her, gathering the best of the best in one space, giving everyone the opportunity to be part of the bellydance world and together bring an historical change of its status. Salwa has earned many honors through the years including a selection to the prestigious "cirque du soleil" dance troupe, participation in many international events and a performance with the bellydance superstars in Luxembourg. Salwa is in charge of the artistic direction and public relations of the congress.
	Moran Hadad is the president of Together in Life NPO, the structure behind the congress. Engineer in telecommunication, he has a master of the polytechnic faculty of the ULB and numerous years of experience in the organization of international projects and events. Moran's business understanding of the congress needs allowed the construction of a solide financial and administrative structure, able to make the dream a commercially viable reality. Moran is the congress' financial and administration guru.
	Hawwa has a master of Oriental Languages and Literatures. She has been dancing since her youngest age. She teaches Oriental dance and worked as a co-creator of several shows such as "The Magnificent 4" and "La Raqs Humaine" in collaboration with Salwa. Hawwa has a long experience in organising big scale international events, and brings her down to earth point of view to the benefit of the team. Hawwa is in charge of the global coordination of the congress.
